Ownership
Your brand, your Stripe, your customers
Your brand
Hunters book on your website, on your own domain, under your name. Every page we write and every review we earn builds your outfit, not a platform's.
Your Stripe
Deposits, balances and refunds go straight into your own Stripe account. Card processing is Stripe's standard rate, and you decide who covers it.
Your customers
Your hunters, waivers, licenses and booking history live in your own HuntReserve account. Your reviews and repeat business build your brand, not ours.
Why outfitters switch
How moving from Xola to HuntReserve changes your checkout, your paperwork and your marketing, and what you keep. Xola details come only from xola.com, as published October 22, 2026.
What makes outfitters search for a Xola alternative?
Usually it is the checkout, the paperwork or the price list. Xola has no subscription; instead, its pricing page says it assesses a partner fee to your customers on every purchase, and the rate isn't published (it says to contact them for pricing). Some outfitters like that model. Others would rather their hunters and anglers see one clean price, and know their own software cost before they sign.
The paperwork is the other reason. Xola is built for tours, charters and attractions, and it has a fishing charter page but no hunting page we could find. Its site doesn't list approving clients before they book, guardian co-signing for minors, license scanning, lodging, tags and harvest reports, or waivers that work offline.
How does a Xola alternative change your checkout?
HuntReserve adds no platform fee to what your customer pays. You pay HuntReserve a published monthly price instead, and on Opening Day a 2% fee on online card bookings comes out of your side; the two larger packages charge no per-booking fee at all.
Card processing is the one charge that remains, as it does everywhere. Xola's pricing page lists card processing at 2.39% + $0.30 in the US. With HuntReserve, card money settles in your own Stripe, billed at Stripe's standard rates; absorbing that or passing it along is up to you.
Because the price is published, you can budget the season before it starts: $1,908, $3,948 or $10,788 a year depending on the package, plus ad spend paid directly to Google and Meta if you run ads.
Is a Xola alternative with a monthly fee worth it?
It is when you would rather know your software cost in advance than have it ride on every sale. Xola's partner fee is charged to your customers on each purchase and its rate isn't published, so the honest way to compare is to ask Xola for the rate, apply it to last season's bookings, and set that number next to HuntReserve's $1,908 to $10,788 a year.
Then weigh what each price includes. HuntReserve's monthly fee covers the full platform, waivers and a custom website on every package, and from Full Draw it covers a marketing team as well. A Xola alternative only makes sense if those pieces are worth more to your outfit than avoiding a subscription. For a hunting outfit that books private-land clients, checks licenses and files harvest reports, they usually are; for a busy walk-up tour, they may not be.
What does a Xola alternative add for hunts and charters?
It adds the steps that come before and after the trip itself. Xola captures non-organizer guests through its digital waivers; on HuntReserve, each person in the party opens a link, enters their own details, e-signs and adds a license photo, and AI matches the license name against the signature. Anyone under 18 signs with a parent or guardian on the same document.
For private-land hunts and premium trips, inquiries land on a board and you decide who may book; approved clients get a single-use code. Lodges sell rooms and beds with the trip. Once a harvest is recorded, the tag is marked and a draft of the state report waits for you to submit, with its deadline counting down.
No signal at the launch or the lease? Camp Mode on a tablet collects signatures and license photos offline and uploads them later.
What do you keep when you move to a Xola alternative?
The features Xola users lean on most have a direct match. Split-pay becomes per-hunter payment links, so each person in a group covers their own share. Deposits and self-serve balance payments become deposits at booking and balances invoiced automatically, with reminders. Xola's waitlist auto-fills cancellations; HuntReserve's offers the open spot to whoever is next, with a day to claim it.
Memberships carry over as members, dues and a ledger next to your day trips, and HuntReserve syncs to QuickBooks Online, which Xola's site doesn't list. Your customer records are imported for you and your trips, waiver, rooms and payment settings are configured together on a call, so returning customers are already on file.
How does marketing compare with a Xola website?
Xola builds WordPress websites in-house, with hosting and keyword research and on-site SEO included in its website package; ads management isn't listed. That is a solid foundation for a charter or tour site.
HuntReserve includes a custom website on your own domain with every package, and from Full Draw adds a full marketing team from our national marketing partner: local search, AI search so assistants like ChatGPT can name your outfit, Google Ads and Meta ads management, monthly content and a Google Business Profile management. Trophy Class adds social media and a dedicated strategist.
The difference is who keeps working after launch. A website gets you found; a team that runs ads around your season dates and asks every happy customer for a review keeps the calendar moving. See how that works on the marketing partner page.
Who should pick HuntReserve as a Xola alternative?
HuntReserve is the stronger Xola alternative for outfits like these:
- Hunting outfitters, lodges and guides, plus charters that also run hunts or overnight trips and want a Xola alternative that covers both.
- Anyone who wants no platform fee showing up on the customer's receipt.
- Outfits that check licenses, screen clients or book minors with a parent.
- Operations with tags and state harvest reports, or camps beyond cell range.
- Owners who want Google, AI search and Meta ads run for them, not only a website.
If you want no subscription, OTA listings or installed iOS and Android operator apps, Xola offers all three and may fit better. Fishing operators can also read our page on charter booking, and anyone can book a walkthrough using their own trips.

Questions
Switching from Xola
Can I move from Xola partway through a season?
Yes, though a quiet stretch makes it easier. Leave trips already booked in Xola to finish there and route new bookings to HuntReserve. We build out your trips, waiver, rooms and payment settings first, so customers only see the new page once it's complete.
What happens to the website Xola built for me?
Ask Xola how they handle the domain and site when you leave. HuntReserve builds a new website on a domain you own with every package, or adds a Book button to any site you control, so customers have somewhere to book from day one.
Will my customers still pay a fee at checkout?
Not a platform fee. HuntReserve adds nothing to the customer's total. The only possible charge is card processing, and you choose whether hunters and anglers cover it or you do.
Do I lose split payments for groups?
No. Switch on individual payment links in settings and each person in the group receives one, so nobody fronts the trip for friends. Leave the setting off and the organizer pays the whole balance as usual.
Will bookings from Viator or GetYourGuide stop?
They may. Xola lists OTA integrations including Viator, GetYourGuide, Tripadvisor and Google Things To Do. HuntReserve concentrates on bookings through your own site instead, and the marketing team on the two larger packages works search, AI answers and paid ads to send customers there.
Do my captains and guides need an app?
No installed app is needed. HuntReserve opens in whatever browser your crew already uses, on any device, and each staff login only shows what that role needs. Xola offers iOS and Android operator apps; HuntReserve doesn't have one.
How long does switching take?
It starts with one call about your trips, seasons and prices. We then set up your packages, waiver, capacity and payments with you and import your customers. How long that takes depends on how many trip types and add-ons you run.
Ready to move off Xola?
We'll set you up.
